Hints for writing your motivation letter
The letters are read by BEST group members of the city where the course is organized. They're students like you and your friends, so be natural, avoid formalities and show your sense of humour. And take into account that your letter must stand out among hundreds of them so above all, be original!
As each BEST group chooses the participants of their own course, each one has its own criteria and some may not like a letter that others might consider very good. But in general lines, the following pieces of advice can guide you:
* Every course has its web page: visit it! It'll help you make an idea of what kind of participants they're looking for.
* Be careful with the length: a very long letter should be very well written not to become tedious and a very short one may result in looking harsh and not saying much about yourself.
* Don't talk only about studies, they'll think you're a boring nerd!!!
* Don't talk only about party, they'll take you for a party animal that won't attend the classes!!!
* Don't talk only about the city, they'll think you want to go on tourism!!!
* Don't be afraid of English, it's not necessary to be Shakespeare as long as you're understood.
* Write the letter on your own: if you get chosen, let it be for yourself!
* Be careful when sending each letter to its destination: don't mix them!
* Send the letter on time to avoid last minute problems.
* And remember the letter will be the main criterion to select participants, so don't write it on the last minute, put some effort into it!
In any case, don't forget that these are just some hints: the perfect letter will be the one you write, don't be afraid to do it your way!
